Can you write for my audience ?

You can count on it. I write regularly for the general public, patients, and physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals.

I research and write about a wide range of health topics, but have particular expertise in nutrition, weight management, chronic diseases (including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, asthma and metabolic syndrome), health consumerism and health behavior change. I stay up-to-date on the latest health and nutrition trends, books and products and maintain a fat rolodex of experts so I can hit the ground running.

What services do you provide?

-- Magazine articles

-- Web content

-- Fact sheets and brochures

-- Educational materials for patients and consumers

-- Educational materials for health professionals

-- Scientific papers and reports

-- Trade and reference books

-- Nutritional analysis of menus and recipes

-- Professional review of nutrition and health materials

Is your writing science-based?

Absolutely. Before putting fingers to keys I research thoroughly using up-to-date, credible sources and I interview qualified experts from scientific, medical and academic institutions -- and of course, I'll meet your fact-checking needs with annotated copies and source materials.

My background helps me to get the facts right: I have a bachelor of science degree in clinical nutrition, a master of science degree in community health, and I'm a registered dietitian. Before becoming a full-time writer, I directed public health and nutrition programs and was an adjunct instructor at two universities, a health services and epidemiological researcher at a large biomedical research institute, and nutrition consultant to a number of organizations and initiatives, including a statewide health promotion campaign and an international project of the National Cancer Institute.

What's your availability?

I'm available for large and small writing, editing and consulting projects. And although I can't promise I can fit in your rush job, it doesn't hurt to ask. If you have an assignment or project you'd like to discuss, please feel free to contact me.
